Go with the flow, and ride with us on Feb 9 to a very special destination–the Hyperion Sewage Treatment Plant, LA’s oldest and largest wastewater treatment facility where we will dismount for a special behind the scenes hard hat tour.
See, smell, and experience where your wastewater goes.
The ride begins at 8 am at the corner of Benton Way and Sunset Blvd under the Happy Foot/Sad Foot sign.
From there we’ll take mostly quiet side streets until we reach the Ballona Creek Bike Path and a secondary meetup spot for Westside Velorutionaries where Duquesne Ave. meets the bike path at 9:45.
YOU MUST RSVP FOR THIS RIDE, since the folks at the plant need to know how many are coming. You must also wear close toed shoes.
It’s approximately 18 1/2 miles from Silver Lake to the Hyperion Plant and 8 miles from the Culver City meetup spot to the plant.
Bring some water and snacks, and we’ll have a sit down meal after the tour.
