Mark your calendars and come out on Saturday, February 28th for the first annual East Hollywood ArtCycle.
East Hollywood Merges Creativity and Cycling in Celebration of the Neighborhood’s Emerging Arts Scene. The ArtCycle event features gallery visits on bike and on foot (drivers are welcome as well but will have to find parking at the respective galleries) bands, food, an art award give-away and more.
The north side of Melrose and Heliotrope will be closed off for various activities, featuring a kids corner, music, performances and food. Tables will also be set up for artists from the neighborhood to display their work.
Some of the participants include Killsonic, Sacred Fools Theater, Syncronicity Gallery, Recycled Movie, and LA Commons.
Maps of the various art galleries who will open their doors from 2-10 pm will be provided at the Hel-Mel block as well as on-line to download from your home.
There will be spoke-cards, t-shirt printing, kids painting and guided bike and walking tours. Be sure to bring your reusable mugs to stay hydrated without creating trash and take public transportation if you can to the event. The East Hollywood Neighborhood Council has three Red Line stations within it’s boundaries (Hollywood/Western, Sunset/Vermont and Santa Monica/Vermont) and major bus hubs on Hollywood/Western and Santa Monica/Vermont.
