April is National Poetry Month and Metro is hoding their annual “Poetry in Motion” reading at Union Station on Thursday, April 30th rom 4-6pm.
I attended and participated a couple years ago and it was a lot of fun and I might even go down to this one tomorrow.
The “Poetry in Motion” program was launched in 1998 and it is a collaboration between Metro and the Poetry Society of America to enliven the public transportation experience by offering riders an opportunity for reflection and inspiration.
Affirming that art can make the transit experience more inviting and meaningful for the public, Metro commissions artists for a wide array of projets throughout Los Angeles County. To find out more, call 213.922.4ART.
Striving to raise public awareness of poetry and encourage more people to read, listne and write poetry, the Poetry Society of America has launched a national series of public programs designated to place poetry at the crossroads of American life.
I’m interested in the Poetry Society of America. I’d like to read my poems in public. Could you please send me more information about your organization.
Thank you.
