On Saturday, December 8th, Van Nuys is hosting their First Annual Eco Fest to Feature Roof-Top Solar Tours, Seminars, Food and Music and Family fun.
Jennifer Gill from Wild Women on Wheels (W2ows) has volunteered to lead a “….bike ride to a better world.”
Jennifer will meet you at the entrance of the North Hollywood Red Line Metro Station at Lankershim and Chandler. The ride will be 12 miles of flat terrain each way.
The ride starts at 8 am. If you are running late, follow the Metro Orange line Class I and Class II Bike Lanes until you reach “Balboa Park” and then head north…towards the “1st Solar Open House & Green Holiday Gift Fest” (7635 Airport Business Park Way ) located near Balboa and Saticoy .
Jennifer asks that you wear your helmet, ride together, obey all rules and to bring your cell phone. For directions, go to bikemetro.com and for metro info, go to metro.net.
Afterwards if you are tired and do not wish to ride the entire distance back, you can jump onto the Metro Canoga Orange Line with your bicycle for a fee of $1.25.
