Sorry to you all for my late email. I was working on the website, and then I went on a ride with my bike and I have these incredible ideas, and by the time I get back I forget half of them, and then I sit in front of the screen lost. If any of you or someone you know invents a machine that can store my ideas as I think them I’ll give you a million bucks. Or more. We can talk about it. Just call me! Anytime!!!
O.k. here is the quick news:
Stephen and I finished our ride last week to Santa Barbara which was a total of 140 miles, and we met some amazing peeps. And we stayed in a hotel, where the mattress was so fresh, that we had to make our own bed, and the carpet was so freshly cleaned, that the hotel gave us some sheets to cover it, before we put our bikes into the room. I’m wondering if someone was murdered there!? Why else was everything so freshly cleaned and mattress replaced, and why was the staff so paranoid???? Huh?
Anyhow, here is some photos and a report of the trip will be on the website next week, when Martin Krieg (the organizer) has finished partying in Frisco:

This weekend only: Stacey Martino’s Show at the Sunset Millennium on 8532 Sunset Blvd. It’s this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and it’s amazing how one woman can play tricks on your mind. After the show you will think that you saw all these characters on stage. You will be transported to Philadelphia’s bars, Underground, Stacey’s old pad, an old shabby theater and more. It’s FREE but there is a suggested donation, and parking cost some money. So try to find street parking, or better yet, the Bus 2 takes you right in front of the Theater, or you can ride your bike (the attendants in the back are very friendly, they will keep an eye on it!)
On Saturday afternoon the 30th: The Pasadena Museum of California Art is presenting, Sustainable Design 2005, a panel discussion that explores the world of ecologically driven design and the impact of growing environmental awareness on design practice. The panel discussion is presented in conjunction with the PMCA’s current exhibition, the California Design Biennial 2005, a juried exhibition of the most innovative and experimental produced in California over the past two years. The panelists - all of whom are featured in the exhibition - will consider process and discuss the social importance of sustainability in design. The Museum is located at 490 East Union Street, Pasadena CA 91101. Admission: $4 - $6
Saturday evening , from 7 - 10 p.m. a bunch of Art Galleries in China Town are having their monthly artists reception, and it is very inspiring. Meet the artists, snack on some food, and sip some wine with new friends! The reception is FREE. Check out their sites, and we’ll see you there! (The Metro Gold Line is really cool to take, and it’ll drop you off in China Town, hence the Chinatown station :-))) The Gold Line runs between Union Station to Sierra Madre Villa (Pasadena) and Chinatown station is the first stop after Union Station.) There are usually a lot of cyclists, and I hope you will consider taking your bike. From Hollywood it’s a straight ride down on Sunset which turns into Cesar Chavez, until you hit Broadway where you turn left and there you are. Sunset is a designated bike route!

And finally on Sunday there is two great theater performances happening in our big neighborhood. At 2 p.m. “The Beauty Queen of Leenane” is playing at The Celtic Arts Center in Studio City and In the evening there is “Hamlet” by The Independent Shakespeare Co. at the Barnsdall Park Great Lawn in Hollywood. Both are Metro accessible, if you need help, email me and I can give you direction and help you get there. We are going on to both events with the Metro. It’s easier, it’s stress free, it’s cheaper and it’s more fun then being stuck in the car :-)))
And if you get up early on Sunday morning, there are a few young trees on Franklin, between Canyon and Western, that needs some watering and mulching. We’ll be on the Canyon Dr. corner of Franklin at 9 a.m. and we would love to see you there. It won’t take long, and it will be fun!
